A Bit About Me
My name is Rachel (some of my closest pals call me Ruby) & as much as I’d love to knock your socks off with my creative writing right now, you really need the cold hard facts before we go any further:
-
I love Jesus with my whole heart & without Him I don’t know who I am
-
I think I am a chaotic neutral enneagram 9
-
Camp is the best place in the whole wide world to be
-
“Scooby Doo” & “Tom & Jerry” are my go-to cartoons
-
I. Love. Color.
-
I hate coffee but am a trained barista
-
Photography & Poetry are soul food
-
My vocabulary consists strictly of movie quotes, memes, & The Word
-
My closest friends live the farthest from me
-
Fun is my (3rd) greatest priority in life
Tuning in to hear these stories provides you a glimpse into my life as a young girl just doing her best to follow Christ.

Hungry Hollow Home
Once I graduated from my program in NYC, I headed home for what ended up being a lot longer than desired to regroup. Since August of 2019 I have held a multitude of different jobs, none of which I applied for or was let go from. Rather, God was slowly but surely building up my resume as He brought each opportunity my way. As of January 2024, I have been appointed as an official missionary with BCM International where I hope to pursue a full-time position at one of our many camps across the globe. The next step is to tour BCM camps as a way to better assimilate to the organization before leaving home for good!
NYC Bound
Upon graduating High School in Western PA, I packed up and moved to a city I had very few ties to. Throughout Jr. & Sr. High, I visited New York City for a few short term mission trips with an organization based out of Queens. I quickly fell in love with the city & even more in love with a God who was now incredibly personal to me. Hard times came & my faith was strengthened in ways I didn’t even think possible.
Two words: Summer Camp.
Every summer since I was old enough to go, I attended Whitehall Camp and Conference Center as a student. Once I was old enough to apply for a position on the summer staff, I was accepted & the rest is history. From scrubbing outdoor restrooms up & down to the privilege of leading students, camp prepared me for practicing relational ministry before I ever knew it was my calling…
